So the 4 of us left our hotel and took the MTR all the way to the park. One thing I love about Hong Kong is the MTR service. Saying that its efficient is an understatement, seriously. We had to transit a lot and Disneyland has its own station and train !! I got so excited when I saw the train cause its just so bloody cute !!
The whole train was decorated with mickey ears and other disney characters. So adorable !! Upon arrival , I made my mission to take as many pictures of Ariel as possible. Since she is my favourite character after all.
The walkway to the park entrance was hugeeee! Perfect for kids (me included, ehem) to be running and jumping all the way to the entrance. The staff set up a tiny booth in front of the ticketing counter where they sold merchandises. I got myself a pair of Minnie Mouses's ears and I actually wore it the whole day. By the end of the day I had a headache since it was on my head the whole time. hahaha .
The day pass ticket costs 450 HKD ( About RM200) . If you have time and dont want to rush, I suggest for you to take the 2 day pass. Cause even when we were there from morning till night, we still didnt manage to cover the whole park.
The first stop was the monsters inc "university" . We saw people were lining up and we were curious. Went in and took pictures with the characters! You can also make your own "scare" ID card which is a student ID for the monsters university. Pretty cool !
I highly suggest for you to take the park map and the show timetable at the entrance for you to plan your visit properly. The first question I asked the staff was " Where can I find Ariel? " And well, sorry but apparently Ariel is not as famous as other princesses so she only made an appearance once =(
We walked and walked the whole day till we got tired and looked for a place to eat. There are quite a few Halal restaurants. There's one near Adventureland. But I should warn you, make sure you bring extra cash with you cause things are VERY priceeeyy.
One of my favourite rides is the Mystic Manor. Apparently is the first ride that doesnt use any railings or tracks and its brand new ! Im not quite familiar with the story though so I didnt actually know what i was expecting but I sure loved the ride !! Worth the 1 hour line.
Towards the end of the day we made our way to the "main street" for the fireworks shows. Its done daily at 9pm so make sure you dont miss it! I recommend that you do your shopping AFTER the fireworks display so that by the time you're done the crowd at the MTR back will be less.
I wanted to fully enjoy the fireworks display so I didnt want to take any pictures of videos. But then I how else can I refresh my memories in the future if I dont have a solid picture. So I took out my phone and snap ONE picture and this is what I got.
I dont know why but I feel as if THIS picture sums up what Disney means to me. The "infinity" sign at the back of Sleeping Beauty's castle is perfect. The fact that during this display " When you wish upon a star" was playing makes the moment even more memorable. Makes me think that no matter how sucky Disney channel is right now, Disneyland will always be magical and that is what Disney will always be remembered as.
Did I enjoy myself? I sure did. Yeah Disneyland Hong Kong is pretty tiny if you compare it to other Disneylands. And the ticket is quite pricey but if you have the chance, please please please do visit Hong Kong Disneyland. I hope you will enjoy is just as much as I did .
