Ciao Bella : Florence!

The weather forecast said our next day in Florence would be sunny . Something Im very familiar with. So yana and I took out our sunnies, wore airy clothes and put on our most comfortable shoes cause we knew we had a lot to see during the day.

Our first stop was Il Duomo . It was about 10 minutes walk from our hostel. The duomo entrance fee was 8 Euros , its a little pricey but its one of the main attractions so you have to do it! The climb up didnt look as scary from outside. But when you go in, walauweeyhh. It regretted wearing a skirt on that day. The stairs were so steep and narrow I was afraid I'd roll down ! At least they had a few levels so we could rest . The first level was where the statues were.

"Imma just sit here with my newspaper while you suckers sweat your way up "

Tricked Yana into taking a picture of me  ( All I wanted was to rest  before climbing up to level 2 . HAHA)

You can tell that the statues were very old . You can see the cracks and everything. The second level was where we could see the ceiling of the duomo and also the bottom of the duomo ( where the cathedral is )

Just check out the detail of the painting!!! Every character had such intricate features. Its amazing

The higher we climb, the more narrow the steps. By the next level, we had to walk in a single file and we had to make way for those coming down the steps as well. Again, if you're claustrophobic you might not want to do this. For the others, HANG IN THERE. After all the climbing, the sweat, the effort I had to put to pull my skirt down, we finally reached the top. The first thing that came to mind was Hannah Montana's line " Life's a climb but the view is great "

Give me forever alone moment pulak

My narnia moment, i call it.

I dont know if I managed to capture the beauty for you , but lets just say Yana and I were in awe the moment we arrived to the top.  It would have been more memorable if someone got proposed during our visit   but, oh well ! I did find a lot of the padlocks with the names and dates written on . Some were recent, some were as old as the 90's. Very sweet indeed.

I thought going up the duomo was difficult. Coming down took double the effort. Yes, I meant trying to hold my skirt down. Thankfully, the people there were very nice about it . Anyhow, after coming down we went into the cathedral which was free of charge.

It then got a little too hot that we needed to cool off with some gelato . We're in Italy of course we need to eat gelato , Duh!

We then walked around and found a place to watch people! Im not sure what its called but its located where the department shops and zara is .

Yana started sketching so I just left her for awhile. We went to the place at night and it was even more beautiful! The carousel was all lighted up and there were a few street musicians who were very good !

We then headed to Piazza Della Signoria where we met David again! But this is the copy of the real David. His dick is still famous though.

We then walked to Ponte Vecchio . Which is the only surviving bridge from Florence's medieval days. The whole stretch on the bridge is actually....wait for it..... JEWELLERY SHOPS! Not that I could afford anything but it was such a nice feeling to see all the diamonds and silver jewellery !

Well dont you look familiar

Yana went all London pace on me and left me while I was taking pictures. I looked up, and she was missing!    But me being the shopaholic that I am, I went to see all the shops around. Oooh-ing and aahhh-ing at all the jewellery hoping that I would be able to bump into her on the bridge. But even after i crossed the bridge, she was still no where to be found! I didnt even bring my phone with me so I had no way of contacting her . We planned to go to Pitti Palace next so I thought she would've waited for me there . So I went all the way to Pitti Palace, and she wasnt there! Funny thing is I didnt panic , I think cause I had all the shops around me and I got distracted. Didnt help that I even went in to some of the shops to try on the leather shoes and leather bags! So anyway after about 45 minutes of looking for her on the bridge and at the palace, I went all the way back to the other end of the bridge. I nearly gave up and wanted to just continue the journey on my
own when I heard a "ASHIQIN ANUAR !!!! " ( she only calls me by my full name when she's mad at me ) and all I could do was just laugh and laugh and I couldnt stop laughing. The funny thing was Yana thought I wouldnt even make it to the palace cause I was too busy looking at the shops ( which was partly true ) but hey, I made it to the Palace okay!!!

So anyhow, after 45 minutes of looking for each other, we both made our way to the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens. It was so hot that it felt so good to be surrounded by all the green !

You can see the Duomo! Thats how far we walked!

The palace is not just a Palace, there were other museums in the palace itself that you can go visit. Theres a costume museum, art gallery , porcelain gallery and loads more. You can choose your package. Yana and I went to the costume gallery and we got to see all sorts of dresses from the 60's till now ! It was quite interesting really, but they didnt allow any photography so no pictures for you to see ,sorry!

Later that day, we headed to our last stop. Which was San Michaelangelo for sunset. We took the bus and thankfully we didnt choose to walk cause it was so far and our feet were going to come off any time soon. So the bus stopped us right at the top of the hill and we made it just in time for sunset!

I can say we got the best seat to watch the sunset over Florence. It was so beautiful and the weather was just perfect ! After that, we took a bus back to where our hostel was ......or so we thought! We somehow missed out stop and we we back to where we started! We ended up having to walk all the way back to the hostel all by ourselves! We were so tired but it was one of the most unforgettable day that I've ever had in my life.
