Sand on my feet

So after flooding my blog with Tioman pictures( mind you, i have 500 more in my camera) , I think its probably time to have a written post and give you more information in case you want a beach getaway soon.

We stayed at Salang Beach Resort. Its a tiny chalet with basic facilities. We figured since we only use the room to change and sleep, we didnt need anything luxurious. However, if you dont like staying outdoors and spend more than half a day in your hotel room during your vacation, then this is not a place for you.

Our package includes accommodation, ferry fees, snorkelling trip and food. I must say everything was worth every cent. Ilda and Tiara finished their last paper 2 days before the trip , Nadh was so stressed up with her exam preparations while I was just so exhausted from work. A beach getaway was very much needed for the 4 of us.  Though the journey took 12 hours, the second my eyes set upon the scenery of the clear blue ocean all my tired-ness faded away. Such a fantastic sight.

I've always loved to swim. I could spend hours in the water even after getting wrinkly hands. I was most excited about going snorkelling. Apart from swimming with dolphins in Bali, it was the first time I've ever swam in the deep blue sea. At first the 4 of us went in wearing the life jackets. Later on, Ilda, Tiara and I felt as if our movements were limited. We wanted to dive deeper and have a clearer view of the colourful corals. So later on we went in without the life jackets and I must say I felt like an oversized mermaid as i swam freely surrounded by the fishes. I even came in contact with a jellyfish and surprisingly i wasnt afraid. It was so beautiful!

The people on the island were so warm to us. We managed to make friends with the locals and they were all so nice! I loved how they had nothing to worry about. Most of them dont even have handphones or even wear watches. They're actually the definition of chilled out.

I've definitely underestimated our local beach attractions. Trips like this make me even more excited to visit other undeveloped islands in Malaysia. Pulau Perhentian and Sabah is next on my list!
